When my sister and brother-in-law came down to visit for Christmas, they asked me if I would snap a few photos of them for their "Happy New Year" card (aka. when you forget to send out Christmas cards until it's too late!) It was good timing too, since they just purchased their very first home! These are two of the most hardworking people I know and I couldn't be happier for them. What a blessing! I look forward to seeing all God will continue to do in their lives.
I still remember the first time I met Carli. Josh and I were on the treadmills at the gym, and I was walking rather briskly (or so I thought) for being 25 weeks pregnant. I look over and there is this girl literally sprinting two treadmills down from me. That was Carli. She looks over around the same time that I notice her and says, "Hi, Springs people!" She recognized us from church. Josh had just taken the job as student pastor at Church @ the Springs a few weeks prior. There are thousands of members at our church, so you never know who you are going to run into! Thankfully, we met Carli that day. She has become a wonderful friend ever since. Not long after I gave birth to Micah we started working out together. She runs a bootcamp, but offered to meet with me one-on-one two days a week. Let me tell you… that girl whipped me back into shape! Because of her dedication and encouragement, I was able to shed the 50lbs I gained during pregnancy with Micah. Just a few weeks into our workouts, Carli told me she was pregnant. I thought that would surely stop her from working out with me - but it didn't! And I think it motivated me even more. If she could do squats, sit-ups and burpees 20+ weeks pregnant, then surely I could too! I was honored when she asked me to take maternity photos for her. She is expecting a sweet baby girl named Kody in just a few short weeks! I can't wait to meet the adorable little sweetheart. Knowing all Carli accomplished this pregnancy, I wouldn't be surprised if Kody was born with built in abs! ;)
I was excited when I heard the news that our friends Brooke and Robert were engaged! Robert was actually a student in our youth ministry in Dothan, Alabama (for a couple months) before heading off to college. Brooke and I worked together at a clothing store called Eagle Eye Outfitters. I was flattered when she called and asked me to take their engagement photos, considering they live four hours away and there are lots of reputable photographers in their area. She even offered to drive down to Ocala for me to take them. What a friend! We had so much fun going out to the beautiful Lake Weir and shooting these photos. They are an adorable couple and I am excited to see all that God will do through their marriage!
